Thanks.
And yet, I’m still going to add. I listen to music all the time, and some songs just stick out. I love music!!!

i love the country music, i can listen to them again and again..
and of course my THE favourite music is Tagore’s songs, have you heard his name? he was a legendary bengali (indian) poet, he wrote, and composed (and sometimes sang) his poems to songs with the help of his very talented relatives and some friends. I am just crazy for his songs
i am music addicted, there are some songs which i listen again and again, but there are some completely different songs that move me..
faith, father figure by george michael fall in the first category, i loved michael jackson’s most of the songs, but his memories are still too raw, so may be i will start to like them after a few years again. i just love don henley and many more.
the songs which move are mostly country.. like => streets of London, If, Honey come back, All I will have to do is dream, Lucielle, Ruby dont take your love to town, coward of the country.. and these songs move me so much that i have to brace myself before listening them
i almost never repeat them.

I love country music too. Garth Brooks, The Dixie Chicks, Kenny Rodgers, and a lot more. I listen to any genre, as long as the songs have substance. That will depend on the person I guess.
You’ve mention Tagore before as a writer and poet. He wrote the national anthem, didn’t he?
I love Faith by George Michael. It has that hypnotic mood that wants to drag you in.
Definitely Don Henley with the Eagles and without.
They were playing the Coward of the County here yesterday. Love the song and the movie.
If I put up a list of the songs I love, but not always on repeat, I’ll be writing for a very, very, long time.
I can’t go without music.

same here, i wont live a week without music. its my heartbeat and my breathing air.
i love kenny rogers’s golden voice, its one in a million.
i have not seen the movie “coward of the county” i have only heard the song. its really very deep in meaning.
i too will be utterly confused and will have to look for a diary to first write down the tracks. then short list and put them up in blog.
books, music, art.. its not easy to point out a favourite in them. atleast not for me.
just like you i too love every song which has something concrete in it, either the music, melody or lyrics.
i love tracy chapman too. have you ever heard any song of rick astley? i really regret that he stopped singing
in country my list of favourites is too long.. dolly parton, anne murray, kenny rogers, don williams, dan seals, glen campbell, roger whittakar and more.
i love the feet tapping songs by wham and george michael. i love father figure because of its dreaminess and cute and true portrayal of love.
i simply love the lyrics and singing style of don henley, with or without eagle
yes, tagore wrote india’s national anthem.

I love Tracy Chapman. Her artsy, folk, and poignant music. She sung without any embellishments; by that, it felt like she put her heart and self in it. Some artists are just music without any soul.
Rick Astley with his bellowing voice. I’m Never Gonna Give You Up and Together Forever are two of my favorites. But seems like everyone’s making a comeback, maybe he’ll do the same.
I’ve never heard of Don Williams or Dan Seals. I’ll look them up. Listened to the Streets of London; loved it.
Wham! Used to dance to Wake me up before you go-go, . . . .
George Michael get your act together and use your talent–again.
Yes, Father Figure is that, and much more.
I’ll be waiting on your list.

what about arirang? or himig ng pag-ibig? foreign songs.harhar
Posted by girlgeum on November 10, 2009 at 7:42 am
I love music from anywhere. Gackt, Seo Taiji, and Utada Hikaru have some nice songs. Just to name a few. But I also must have a translation of the song.
I’ll look up the ones you mention. Always happy to get recommended music.
But remember this list is for songs that are stuck on repeat.

harhar:-) peanut butter and jelly…
Posted by girlgeum on November 11, 2009 at 7:34 am
Eggs and bacon.
I listened to himig ng pag-ibig by Asin and Yeng Constantino. One’s mellow, while the other is upbeat. Both are beautiful musically, although I prefer Yeng’s version. Looked for a translation, but didn’t find one. So my feeling is reserved.

I grew up with the original version of Asin. Here’s the translation:
Melody of Love
By Asin (salt)
Hoo hoo hoo
Hoh hoh hoh
As nighttime falls, I long
For your return
Because without you I am restless,
For with me, every
single moment counts
Our love is like a free bird;
A Heaven to be desired
Every heartbeat feels sweet
As a melody to sing …
Chorus:
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na …
Na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na na
Na na na na na na na na …
And now that
You’ve returned
Tears of Love is a delight
To caress;
Like cascading
waters falling,
Kissed by the wind
Love is the Light
Of our Life
(A free bird)
(dreams of reaching heaven)
(Every heartbeat)
Every heartbeat feels sweet
As the melody of our love…
copied this in multiply. no plagiarism intended. thanks for taking the time to listen.
got to study… bye! harharhar

Thank you.
I do love it.

dearest gg,
she is awesome, so is rick astley.. their sober appearance is what bowls me over a lot. just like michael jackson’s innocence.
i love music so, so much that it wont be possible for me to put up a small list like yours…
i love tracy chapman as a lyricist, singer and person
i too will be happy if george michael pulls himself together and returns. as for rick, well i will be sooooooo happy.
have you heard “when i fall in love” by him? its one of my hot favourite songs (the singer has to be him).
with lots of affection.
Posted by girlgeum on November 20, 2009 at 7:05 am
No haven’t heard that song by him. Will look it up. I’ve heard the one by Nat King Cole that goes, ‘When I fall in love, it will be forever, or I’ll never fall in love, in a restless world like this is, love has ended before it began, . . . .’ That man had a voice.
Is Tracy still making music? I have to look that up. Everyone’s making a comeback.
Posted by trisha on November 20, 2009 at 4:47 pm
No unfortunately tracy chapman too doesnot sings any more i guess.. i think her last album was crossroads.
i have heard a few songs by Nat King Cole and loved them. Its the same song, atleast lyrics is the same.
do you like ABBA? i love their songs, apart from them boneyM, eagles, police, chicago are some of the groups i love.
Posted by girlgeum on November 24, 2009 at 7:18 am
Tracy Chapman’s latest album came out last year November. It’s call Our Bright Future. Haven’t listen to any songs from it yet.
And yes, they’re the same lyrics. I heard Cry For Help and Keep It Turned On by Mr Astley. I’m loving Keep It Turned On, not the remix, the original.
I like some of ABBA songs. The Police’s Roxanne, Every Breath You Take, Message In A Bottle, and others. Like some Chicago songs. Do you like Michael Bolton?
Posted by trisha on November 27, 2009 at 3:47 pm
i too love police songs. some of them are fantastic. michael bolton is also wonderful, but i have heard only one album, and i loved all the songs of that one i believe.. how am i supposed to live without you, stand up for love, how can we be lovers..
these days my stock of songs is pathetic… i used to have a massive collection of cassettes majority of them got ruined in the last flat we rented.
so tracy chapman is still singing. good.
some of chicago songs are too good, and abba’s melody is simply fascinating, boneyM is feet tapping.
Posted by girlgeum on November 30, 2009 at 7:20 am
I love the ones you mentioned. One of my favorite by Michael is, Said I love you but I lied.
Music, no matter what era, lives on. I don’t think no one has all the music that they want, so the stock is never full. Thank God for the mediums in which we can listen.
Sorry about your collection.
Posted by trisha on December 22, 2009 at 8:00 am
dearest gg,
i was heartbroken.. but i quickly console myself.
i rarely get that much heartbroken though. music means a lot to me and that collection was made mostly from my/my brother’s pocket money, ever since we were children we used to spend our money on cassettes and books in place of dresses or other things
so.. almost twenty years collection was dipped in drain water
just because some unscrupulous people did not bothered to warn us, give us a hint (btw i will never forgive them in my life).
with lots of love.
Posted by girlgeum on December 28, 2009 at 6:56 am
That sucks.
Posted by trisha on December 22, 2009 at 8:01 am
i have not heard that song by michael bolton, i have only one of his albums, the one which has those songs which i mentioned, how am i supposed to live without you, how can we be lovers..

Awesome list. Try Mandisa some time. As we seem to have similar tastes, I think you’ll really like her stuff.
Posted by girlgeum on July 30, 2010 at 5:22 am
I also love her song God Speaking.
